The Maryland 2020 Census Grant program project was created to support the accurate counting of hard to count populations living in public housing and housing choice voucher households in Baltimore City.

The Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) in partnership with its non-profit subsidiary, Resident Services Incorporated (RSI), were awarded a grant for Baltimore City.

Our goals are to sponsor activities, conduct outreach and provide direct services designed to increase the self-response rates of residents living in public housing and housing choice voucher communities in Baltimore City.

What Is the 2020 Census?

The 2020 Census counts every person living in the United States and five U.S. territories.

The count is mandated by the Constitution and conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, a nonpartisan government agency.

Why We Conduct This Count

The census provides critical data that lawmakers, business owners, teachers, and many others use to provide daily services, products, and support for you and your community. Every year, billions of dollars in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, and other resources based on census data.

Counting Everyone

Participating in the census is required by law, even if you recently completed another survey from the Census Bureau. A complete and accurate count is critical for you and your community, because the results of the 2020 Census will affect community funding, congressional representation, and more.

How to Get Counted

1. Complete and mail in your questionnaire you received in the mail.

2. Contact the U.S. Census Bureau and complete you questionnaire by phone by dialing 844-330-2020 (toll free).

3. Complete your questionnaire online at www.my2020census.gov.
